WHAT IS MINDFUL SELF COMPASSION?  

The times we are living in demand our resilience, presence and compassion. The Mindful Self-Compassion Course is a research-supported, 8-week training program designed to cultivate the skills and qualities of awareness, balance and compassion for others as well as ourselves. Research shows that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, and surpasses the value of positive self-esteem in the long-term. Participants report less anxiety, depression, stress and burn out. Self-compassion supports maintenance of healthy habits and more satisfying personal relationships. Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience. And it’s easier than you might think!  

Over the course of 8 weeks, we will explore the three components of self-compassion as well as the common misgivings. You will learn how to handle challenging situations and emotions with greater ease and clarity, motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism, transform challenging relationships, manage caregiver fatigue, and understand the empirically-supported benefits of self-compassion.

By the end of the program, you will have learned a series of short effective practices as well as longer practices that will support you in maintaining self-compassion in your daily life as you meet the demands of the times.
